2012 Nengajo (New Year’s Card) Time-Lapse Video

Ever year at the end of December, in Tokyo’s historic Itabashi district, the decades-old Fukuyoshi Lumberyard creates a unique nengajo (New Year’s Card) made from hundreds of 10-foot strips of lumber. This special time-lapse video captures the assembly of the card, which features a playful manga illustration of the mystical creature that gives The Year of the Dragon its name!

Got a Kindle? A Kobo? A Nook? An iPad, iPhone or iPod touch? Well then, Manga University’s got you covered! Our lineup of award-winning books are available in eBook form for all of those devices — and we’ve now got a special page right here on our website where you browse and download them all!

Manga University is a recognized leader in the design of comic books in eBook form, having published our first volumes when the Kindle was introduced four years ago. We followed that up with specially formatted editions for Apple iOS devices when the iBookstore opened in 2010. And our books have quickly climbed the sales charts since joining the Barnes and Noble Nook Store earlier this year.

We take great pride in the look and readability of our eBooks. Many of our editions, including the best-sellers “Manga Moods” and “The Manga Cookbook,” have found new audiences in the eBook arena. And we’ve also introduced an all new “How to Draw Manga!” series of instructional mini-guides priced as low as 99 cents each!

A Very Special Manga University T-Shirt

The Manga University Tokyo Campus T-shirts are back in stock — and better than ever! We’ve produced a limited-edition version of our classic shirt with a special “Gambaro!” (Stay Strong) logo on the left sleeve.

And if you buy one now, you’ll be contributing to MU’s efforts to raise funds for Japan disaster relief, as we are continuing to donate 10 percent of all sales in our Campus Store to the Japanese Red Cross.

Just like the ones worn by our staff and students, this heavy-duty, pre-shrunk 100% cotton T-shirt is designed to impress.

The front of the shirt features the slogan “Property of Manga University,” with the word “Tokyo” written in exotic Japanese kanji characters.

We use Port and Company brand T-shirts for the ultimate choice for quality and value. Constructed from 6.1-ounce heavyweight 100% cotton, it has a coverseamed neck and is double needle hemmed for extra durability. This shirt will wear well and retain its original color and printing after multiple washings.

Show your support for Manga University — and Japan — by wearing one of our shirts! Available now in the Manga University Campus Store.
