Manga University at Anime Expo
July 2nd, 2009 - Anime Expo is in full swing at the Los Angeles Convention Center over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, and Manga University is on hand with free "Manga Cookbook" cooking demonstrations, "Manga Tarot" readings and a few more fun surprises! If you're attending AX, be sure to stop by booth 925 and meet the folks behind all your favorite Manga University books.
Manga Without Borders Volume 2 Submission Deadline Extended to July 31st
June 3rd, 2009 - A couple of months ago we announced the groundbreaking sequel to our acclaimed art-book "Manga Without Borders," and we asked you to send in your artwork for the book. Since then, the MU staff has been thrilled with the outpour of unique illustrations from manga-ka around the globe who want their artwork and profile to be published in "Manga Without Borders Volume 2."
While we are delighted with all of the submissions so far, there is still room for a few more artists to be included in the book and so we are extending the deadline for art submissions through July 31st 2009. So if you have been thinking about entering and didn't make the deadline or just are just hearing about this project for the first time, send in your artwork now!!
Also, those of you who have submitted illustrations thus far will be contacted no later than June 15th in regards to your inclusion in the project as per our FAQ. Artists who submit their artwork after May 30th will be informed of their acceptance no later than August 15th.

San Francisco Chronicle serves up "The Manga Cookbook"
March 24th, 2009 - San Francisco Chronicle writer Lynn Char Bennett gives readers a taste of "The Manga Cookbook" in the newspaper's popular Food section.
"Readers are guided through the cookbook by three cartoon characters: a young girl, Miyuki, who calls herself the kitchen sensei; Hiroshi, her boyfriend who likes to eat; and the feline-like mascot, Coo, identified as the book's culinary mastermind," Bennett writes in the Sunday, March 22 edition. "In addition to recipes, more information about many of the dishes and ingredients are presented through Miyuki's notes."
"The Manga Cookbook" has already received favorable reviews from Gourmet.com, the Oakland Tribune and the American Library Association, and we can't wait for more journalists to get their hands on this delicious title. If you don't have your own copy yet, be sure to pick one up from our site!
